With Xynthesizr, users can create patterns and modify them in real-time or allow the app's morphing algorithms to do it for them. Each step can have its own adjustable velocity, and users can select different keys and scales with the ability to transpose in real-time. Xynthesizr also provides an option to tie consecutive notes of the same pitch to create longer notes. Users can shift and flip patterns as desired, and even create and utilize their custom scales and Life-like cellular automata rules. The app features color-coded octaves to enhance visual organization.

In terms of the synthesizer and effects, Xynthesizr boasts a powerful 32-bit floating-point sound engine and supports 16 voice polyphony. Each voice is equipped with two antialiased oscillators offering four waveforms (sine, triangle, sawtooth, square). It also features a 4-pole (24 dB/oct) low-pass resonant filter. The app includes two ADSR envelope generators for amplitude and filter cutoff frequency modulation, as well as two LFOs to modulate four selectable LFO targets (filter frequency, pitch, amplitude, second oscillator detune). Additionally, Xynthesizr offers stereo delay, reverb, and randomized panner effects.
